การใช้งานโปรแกรม VPN (Virtual Private Network) เป็นวิธีการจำลองให้เครื่องคอมพิวเตอร์ หรือโน้ตบุ๊คที่ใช้งานอยู่นอกมหาวิทยาลัย หรือนอกเครือข่าย ให้สามารถใช้งานได้เสมือนหนึ่งสมาชิกที่ใช้งานเชื่อมต่ออยู่ภายในมหาวิทยาลัย สำหรับผู้ใช้บริการ มก. ซึ่งมีรหัสผู้ใช้ เครือข่ายนนทรี (Nontri Account) สามารถ login เพื่อดาวน์โหลดโปรแกรมได้จากเว็บไซต์ KU VPN และเมื่อเชื่อมต่อ VPN แล้ว ผู้ใช้บริการสามารถใช้งานอินเทอร์เน็ตเข้าสืบค้นข้อมูลจากฐานข้อมูลออนไลน์ต่าง ๆ ที่ห้องสมุดบอกรับได้ เหมือนกับการใช้งานอยู่ภายในเครือข่าย มหาวิทยาลัยเกษตรศาสตร์

VPN - off campus access to electronic resources
Students, staff and faculty increasingly connect to the KU network from off campus. For remote users, access to some licensed online materials (e.g., e-journals, e-books) and other university resources is limited to systems assigned a campus IP address. A virtual private network (VPN) gives individuals working remotely a secure way to access the organization?s network. A KU VPN service would allow authenticated users to access restricted campus resources and materials from outside of campus.
*Most of KU Library's electronic resources are available to users from anywhere off campus and from any location, including foreign countries. KU VPN (Virtual Private Network) service is the recommended method for remote access.
